His visual perception is weakening however he doesn't notice in looking for clinical consideration yet goes to a scientific expert and buys modest glasses. I proposed a direction and mentoring meeting for him so he can be in a situation to manage the pressure being brought by his wellbeing condition and his marriage. Bill is a maturing man who lives with his significant other in a little waterfront town. His age portrays an individual who is resigned however doesn't allude to himself as such on the grounds that he works low maintenance at a golf club as a grounds man. Bill is jobless with the exception of his low maintenance work as a grounds man at the green. Thus, The Beveridge model of human services is obvious for him since he doesn't have a changeless government work that remunerates its laborers through a finance framework. In this framework, the administration is the exclusively answerable for the medicinal services of its residents. The administration claims a serious enormous number of emergency clinics and has likewise utilized specialists for the strength of the soundness of its residents (Burwell, 2015). To support the emergency clinics and pay the specialists, it gathers charges from people, for example, Bill and Betty. The expenses may not be immediate however might be backhanded recouped through the acquisition of merchandise and enterprises. This model is clear Bill's since he is confronting a time of money related emergency as he is being confronted with a home advance reimbursement and his every day use rate is expanding in light of the fact that he has gone to playing pokies at the lodging joint in this way can't bear to pay for a private clinical professional. Bill's wellbeing has carried numerous issues to his family and furthermore to his friend network. The unsound choices he is making are because of his significant other's response and treatment at whatever point he is at home. The social impacts and disparities that are encompassing him are a consequence of his dynamic about his wellbeing. For example, as indicated by the investigation, he was determined to have hypertension five years back, and his significant other has reliably griped of how wiped out he has become and is taking steps to leave him (Brunson, 2013). To manage the present circumstance of his marriage, he lies about his hypertension progress to the enlisted medical attendant to the degree of revealing to them that his now vigorous enough to work in the nursery all the more frequently without a break. Additionally, in regards to his overweight condition, he asserts that he heard a promotion on the TV of a specialist who was offering get-healthy plans and that he would jo in up with the program (individuals US Department of Health and Human Services, 2010). His better half's conduct is the principle explanation behind his upsetting condition since he wouldn't like to be disregarded seeing that his youngsters are far away from home tenants. Because of the treatment, he is looking from the spouse Bill can't deal with his wellbeing condition properly and furthermore went up against with a test in controlling his pressure (OConnor, OConnor, Shepherd, OCarroll, de Ridder, 2016). It is likely for a person to have the powerlessness to confront their difficulties when they don't have loved ones help. For Bill's situation, this is going on as he is going to investing so much energy playing pokies at the close by lodging consequently discovering comfort there subsequently This conduct is a pressure the executives procedure since he feels less dismissed and undesirable in the inn as opposed to at home with Betty (Folkman, 2013). In the first place, he is overweight and corpulent, however he consistently avoids going consider his To be as conceivable as possible and this can be taken as a social refusal in regards to his weight. Likewise, another undeniable conduct reaction about his weight is that he is settling on many degenerate way of life decisions, for example, drinking over the top red wine and furthermore he prefers eating food that isn't hand crafted unmistakably known as removing food (Dixon, 2010). Obviously as appeared by the examination, Bill doesn't look for legitimate clinical consideration for his eyes in the wake of taking note of that they are having issues anyway he goes to the closest scientific expert and purchases modest glasses with the expectation that they will help right his condition (Oliver, 2014). A reaction that had been activated by his concern of if his wellbeing condition kept on being awful he would be sent to a nursing home by his better half. As to weight, he didn't take some other pills or solution along these lines to protect his refusal; he accused his significant other of continually annoying him about weight reduction while she was the reason since she was not a decent cook subsequently. Accordingly, he dismissed to enjoying take nourishments. Tragically he is picking an inappropriate conduct reactions to manage his medical issues consequently can't be in a situation to recoup true to form (Oliver, 2014). Avoidance of sickness and advancement of wellbeing Sickness avoidance is the demonstration of deflecting the reasons for an infection by rehearsing great way of life practices and sterile conditions. In most case, illness avoidance prompts increment in wellbeing advancement. For example, if Bill for our situation study is enthused about watching and dealing with his weight, at that point it would be simpler for him to manage the medical issues he is having. Bill destroys take food and beverages over the top red wine and keeping in mind that at it; he doesn't check out practicing appropriately. In this way he doesn't rehearse wellbeing advancement along these lines can't forestall an event of different sicknesses. All things considered, his visual perception issue is brought about by his hypertension condition which can't be overseen in any event, during medicine since he is continually making unexpected weakness conditions (Cecchini et al., 2010). What lies on the other side of life

What lies on the other side of life A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.Very quietly, the doctor said, I dont know. You dont know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side? The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room with his tail wagging and an eager show of gladness.Turning to the patient, the doctor said, Did you notice my dog? Hes never been in this room before. He didnt know what was inside He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing. I know my Master is there and that is enough.Author Unknown

Global Warming - 1375 Words

Global Warming (Essay Sample) Content: Name: Professor Course Date Global Warming Climate change is one of the greatest environmental challenges that humanity is facing today. The continuous food shortage, habitual destruction, flooding, storms and dry periods are known to be signs of global warming. Scientists warn that unlike other humanity problems such as war or poverty, global warming is the world’s major prospective threat and one that should in principle be met with defensive actions. Scientists add that the failure of coming up with solutions will increase climatic danger in the coming years. Patterns of rainfall, sunshine and storms are likely to change affecting how plants grow and the world’s food supply, while the sea is believed to rise, leading to more flooding in the low-lying coasts. Therefore, climatic changes are likely to increase natural disasters in form of drought, floods, landslides, and tsunami. Since the 20th century, weather records have showed that the earth†™s temperatures began to rise slowly in various areas in the globe. The rise of earth’s temperature has continued due to the global warming process. This process is simply defined as the continuing increase in earth’s overall temperature, whereby the surface temperature is said to increase by approximately 1.4 degree Fahrenheit (0.7 °) in the last 150 years (Farrar, p.7). It has been observed that the increasing temperature since the 20th century is caused by the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases, which result from human activities such as deforestation, and fossil fuel burning such as oil and coal among others. Scientists’ reports indicate that global warming is expected to continue because of the long life time of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the large heat capacity of the oceans. Cause and effects The steady increase of global warming is associated with the increasing concentration of atmospheric gas, which results from human activiti es. These human activities include population growth, industrial expansion, deforestation, and burning fossil fuels among others. Strong evidence has been presented to support the view that the emission of gas in the atmosphere contribute to a global climatic change, which encompasses a change in most climatic variables. According to Staden and Musco (p.421), the major green house gases responsible for global warming include Carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and Nitrous Oxides (N2O). Carbon dioxide is the greatest contributors, whose major sources include: burning fossil fuels, forest degradation, aerosols, and land use changes. In land use changes, emissions of carbon dioxide come primarily from cutting down forests with the aim of urbanization, agriculture or construction of roads. Cutting down large rainforest areas reduces the capacity for storing carbon dioxide, as it leads to an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide. Historically, developed count ries were known to emit the most green house gases, because of their existence from the industrial revolution period in the mid 18th century. This period saw the invention of steam engine, leading to activities such as mining, manufacture, transportation and agriculture. More so, industrialized countries have also been the major contributors of carbon dioxide emission. On the other hand, rapid urbanization and industrialization has continued to impact developing countries resulting to environmental degradation. In fact, urbanization and industrialization causes adverse implications on global warming as they compound adverse pressure on natural resources increasing the threat of reduced rainfall and plants. In addition, they may result to plant and animal extinction due to cultivation and reduced rainfall and vegetation. The combustion of fossil fuel is the primary cause of air pollution affecting the global climate. This form of pollution is common in large towns and cities becaus e of the increased number of industries and many vehicles. Fossil fuels have been currently used as a source of energy in industries, personal, and domestic use. However, burning fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide, which traps heat in the earth’s atmosphere, which scientists claim that it adds to global warming. In fact, when carbon dioxide mixes with the water vapor in the clouds, moisture falls in form of acid rain. Acid rain is destructive to all living thing things including aquatic animals such as fish. In most cases, the acid rain destroys aquatic creatures, damages plants and trees, damages buildings and tombstones, and an entire forest can be easily sickened by the acid rain. Lastly, solar radiation and aerosols are important factors that influence climate change as they alter the energy balance of the earth’s climate system. Webersik (p.3) points out that solar radiation enters into the plant, but the greenhouse gases trap the heat by absorbing some of the reflected and outgoing radiation, therefore, generating a greenhouse effect. Aerosols and green house gases reduce direct solar radiation, and as a consequence surface temperatures tend to be higher than they would otherwise be. The warming of the atmosphere as well as the earth surface has come to be known as the greenhouse effect. Solutions It would be essential to unambiguously understand the impacts of climate change, in order for governments and societies to come up with effective solution for global warming. Although scientists maintain that global warming cannot now be prevented, it is widely held that it can be slowed and its effects mitigated. This means that is possible to combat or take action against global warming and prevent adverse effects of climate change. These include implementing measures that will promote the use renewable energy, phase out the use of fossil fuel, manage forests, and exploring nuclear power among others. Eliminating the use of fossil fuel will help to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This can be achieved by implementing economic incentives such as subsidies, taxes, or marketable permits for the use and production of fossil fuels. The implementation of economic incentives is a beneficial way of regulating use of fossil fuel, as it will induce changes in consumption and use, causing the emission of carbon dioxide to fall. Consumers tend to shift away from products that have risen in price since large amounts of energy are used in their production. In addition, coal prices should be raised the most because coal has the highest carbon content per unit of energy. Increasing carbon prices should be a well adopted measure in reducing and combating carbon emissions from fossil energy combustion. The use of renewable technologies has been an acceptable strategy towards reducing the rate of global warming. According to Schneider, John, and Armin (p.436), the United States Federal policies encourage the us e of renewable energy through incentives, tax credits and through de...

The name is ironic because the other name was satis which means satisfied and is ironic because everyone in that house are all miserable, and also it is ironic that Estella’s home has a dual identity but it’s ironic because the house also has a double identity which is quite freaky. The comment that is made about education of women here is that in the Victorian times women were only taught cosmetic management that the women education was quite poor. Dickens uses gothic literature to describe her house. `Only the candle lighted us` The link to literature is that the past had come to haunt them because she was evil. We are finally introduced to Miss Havisham. `†¦sat the strangest lady I have ever seen, or shall ever see†¦. Answer: From The Economic Times (7th sept-2010) London World  Markets  Rise As Double-Dip Fears Ease: World stock  markets  advanced modestly Monday as investors rode momentum from Friday, when an upbeat U. S. jobs report eased fears that the global economy could slip back into recession. With  Wall  Street closed for a holiday, however,  trading  was expected to remain light. Markets took heart after official data last week showed private employers in the U. S. added 67,000 jobs in August, more than analysts expected. The figure bolstered optimism that the U. S. will maintain a slow but steady recovery from last year’s recession and avoid another economic contraction later this year. By mid-afternoon in Europe, Britain’s FTSE 100 index was up 0. 3 percent at 5,446. 17, Germany’s DAX was 0. 3 percent higher at 6,153. 31 and France’s CAC-40 was up 0. 3 percent at 3,684. 20.Asian indexes closed higher and trading on Wall Street was to remain shut for Labor Day weekend after closing higher on Friday. With most major  governments  reining in  economic stimulus  measures and many pushing through austerity spending cuts to reduce deficits, investors worry the global economy would be pushed into a double dip recession, particularly as the US slows down quickly. Because the U. S. economy is the world’s largest and consumer spending there accounts for a fifth of global economic activity, the stronger-than-expected jobs data on Friday helped calm investors’ frayed nerves after weeks of worrying indicators. The renewed flight to safety we have witnessed over the past month is overdone and risks an equally large reversal when the worries over a double dip subside,† analysts from Rabobank said in a report. â€Å"As the unexciting, steady and below-trend global recovery continues, it’s  important not to confuse it with a double dip recession. † Japan’s benchmark  Nikkei 225 stock  index climbed 2. 1 percent, or 187. 19, to 9,301. 32 and South Korea’s Kospi rose 0. 7 percent to 1,792. 42. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index added 1. 8 percent to 21,355. 77. Australia’s Samp;P/ASX 200 gained 0. percent at 4,575. 50. Markets in mainland China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia and Singapore were also higher. The  Dow Jones  industrial  average  jumped 1. 2 percent to close at 10,447. 93 on Friday. The broader Standard amp; Poor’s 500 Index rose 1. 3 percent to 1,104. 51. Shares in the U. S. ended the week in the positive, the first time that has happened in a month. The early gains in September mark a stark turnaround from August trade, when shares fell on doubts about the global economic recovery. The dollar fell to 84. 24 yen from 84. 27 yen on Friday. The euro was slightly lower at $1. 2880 from $1. 2895. Benchmark oil for October delivery was down 40 cents at $74. 20 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The  contract  fell 42 cents to settle at $74. 60 on Friday. Jargon refers to technical terms or specialized vocabulary. Some of the technical terms mentioned  above are â€Å"rode momentum, Kospi, FTSE, CAC, DAX, calm investors’ frayed nerves, etc. † More complex words and  phrases are written in the above article and this reduces the level of readability when read by a common man.The above article is well written, however, the reader of the article should have a certain amount of knowledge in the field of  stock trading  and world financial markets. Q 3 List out and briefly explain five â€Å"do†s and â€Å"don’t’s† for each of participants and chairperson of a meeting. Answer: Before the Meeting As pointed out earlier, meetings need to be  planned  in advance, so that they are successful. Before any  planning  can be done however, a  basic  question to be asked is whether to hold a meeting at all. The  answers  to the following questions would help to decide whether a meeting is necessary in the  first place   * Can the matter be decided or discussed over the  telephone? * Can the matter be expressed in writing, in the form of a memo, or an email message? * Are key people available to attend the meeting and are they prepared? * Is  the time  allotted for the meeting sufficient? If  the  answers  to the first two questions are yes and  the  answers  to the other two questions are no, there is no purpose in calling a meeting. Once he need for a meeting has been determined, the next step is to start planning the meeting. First of  all, the type and number of participants should be decided. A problem solving meeting should include representatives from all departments, since the decision would otherwise be incomplete. Shareholders, who a re the owners of the company, should also be included. In terms of numbers, the size of the group could be anywhere between seven and eleven  members. An exception to this is an information sharing meeting, where the numbers could be larger, so that a maximum number of people benefit from the information. The second and most  important  step in planning a meeting is to indicate the purpose or agenda of the meeting to the participants in advance. An agenda is essentially a list of topics that will be discussed during a meeting. In the words of Adler and Elmhorst, â€Å"A meeting without an agenda is like aship  at sea without a destination or compass: no one aboard knows where it is or where it is headed. † An agenda is prepared by the Chairperson of the meeting, or the person who calls the meeting. During the Meeting: The task of conducting and moderating the meeting rests with the chairperson. He or she must be well versed with the procedures for opening the meeting, encouraging balanced participation, and solving problems creatively, concluding the meeting and managing time efficiently. We shall discuss each of these procedures in detail. 1. Opening the Meeting – The manner in which the meeting is opened is important, since a good opening will ensure that the rest of the meeting will proceed smoothly. There are different ways of opening a meeting. Generally, it is best to sum up what has been stated in the agenda – including the goals,  background  information and expectations of the participants. It is also a good idea to provide an outline of how the meeting will proceed, as well as a time budget. 2. Encouraging Balanced Participation – It is also the responsibility of the chairperson to encourage silent members to contribute to the meeting and to moderate the dominant members, so that they do not â€Å"hijack† the meeting. There are several  techniques  to encourage participation – †¢ Encourage Participation in the Reverse Order of Seniority – This means getting the junior members to speak or air their opinions first. If the senior people speak first, they may  feel  suppressed or be afraid to disagree with their superiors. †¢ Nominal Group  Technique  Ã¢â‚¬â€œ In this method, the meeting participants are encouraged to work and contribute their ideas independently 3. Managing Time – There is no prescribed length for a meeting. The duration of a meeting will depend on the type and purpose of the meeting. Generally, problem-solving meetings will take longer than other routine meetings. In any case, the chairperson should set a time budget for the meeting, depending on the agenda and ensure adherence to  the time  limit. 4.Keeping the Meeting Focused – Often, a lot of time is wasted during meetings by going off track and by discussing topics that are irrelevant. In such situations, it is the responsibility of the chairperson, or the person moderating the  discussion  to make sure that the  discussion  remains focused on the topics  mentioned  in the agenda. 5. Ensuring â€Å"Convergence† – Convergence means  hearing  the points of view of all the members and then arriving at a decision. It is again the responsibility of the chairperson to bring the meeting to a point where an opinion emerges on each item of the agenda. 6.Summing Up – This means summing up the different points of view, the decisions and the  actions  to be taken. This should be done by the chairperson, identifying the role of each person on each item of the agenda, along with a specified deadline. Example – Chris will take the responsibility of contacting the media and sending material for advertisements and  press releases  by March 13th. 7. Concluding the Meeting – The way a meeting is concluded is as important as  the opening, since it will influence the follow-up  action  taken on decisions made during the meeting. The chairperson should know when and how to conclude the meeting. The meeting should normally be concluded at the scheduled closing time, unless important issues still remain to be discussed and members are willing to extend the meeting. Sometimes meetings may be concluded before the closing time, when key decision  makers  are not  present, or when important information such as cost figures are not available. 8. Keeping â€Å"Minutes† of the Meeting – Since meetings are called to take important decisions concerning the  organization, it is important to maintain a permanent written record of the proceedings, which can be referred to at a later stage, or serve as a guide for  action.Such a record is known as â€Å"minutes† of the meeting and may be done in an informal or  formal  manner, depending on the type of meeting. After the Meeting: A meeting that proceeds smoothly will still not be successful, unless proper follow-up measures are taken to ensure that the goals are fully accomplished. Follow-up may involve t he following steps – 1. Plan for the Next meeting – Very few meetings is conclusive and cover all the items in the agenda completely. It is the chairperson’s responsibility to make a note of the items that have not been discussed and to  schedule  the next meeting, along with a fresh agenda. All participants must be informed that a follow-up meeting is being planned. 2. Check Progress on Follow-up  Actions  Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Members of the meeting may have been assigned different responsibilities and deadlines for completion of tasks. Therefore, it is important to monitor their progress every  now and then, after the meeting is over, to ensure that the deadlines are met. 3. Do your own Groundwork – Apart from  monitoring  the progress of meeting participants, it is also important that you as the chairperson finish any pending work before the next meeting. Journey of the Magi Essays (635 words) - Gospel Of Matthew

Journey of the Magi is about the sudden understanding of Christianity. Death and rebirth occurs in the poem of Journey of the Magi. The journey to Bethlehem was an end of an era and upcoming birth of a new one. Elliot states that the Magi were a difficult journey. Elliot uses in (line 1) a cold coming we had of it. He uses this as to find fault of and the climate in (line2) just the worst time of year so in other words Elliot uses this saying it was cold. There came forth hard times according to (line 16) Elliot uses a hard time we had of it. They use the statement in (line 10) and the silken girls bringing sherbet. If life was more at ease but instead of the wise men being grateful they were truly ungrateful but they feel as if they are moving forward with their journey with the lord and putting their sinful past behind them. The wise men are tempted to backslide because the camel men and the bad cities cause the wise men to take advantage of their journey and fall again as perverts. The wise men think of the difficult journey and this reminds them of their sinful life and this helps them to move on. The poem moves on to the confession of sins. After the hard times the wise men arrive at s unrise in the valley wet and smelling of vegetation according to (lines21-22). Elliot describes in (line24) that the scenery as three trees on the low sky, and an old white horse galloped away in the meadow as if the white horse could mean death. In the Merriam Webster dictionary confession is defined as to acknowledge ones sins to God or to a priest. In other words the narrator wants God?s forgiveness. Because he didn?t ever take time to understand the importance of God and his birth. The confession is described as this birth was/hard and bitter agony for us, like death, our death (lines 38-39). The narrator says I had seen a birth and death? But had thought they were different (lines 37-38). The wise men were saying as if what they had experienced while traveling so far was like the end to them than the beginning. The wise men speak as no one is perfect but the soul can begin a process of becoming perfect. In (line 39) we returned to our place, these kingdoms. They use this saying that death has an ending and that?s when the soul can be complete. In (line 40) we returned to our places, these kingdoms, But no longer at ease here, in the old dispensation with an alien people clutching their Gods. I should be glad of another d eath. And this describes human weakness as being able to face what comes too you as trials and tribulations. The wise men returned to their property. And they feel sorry that they have to and are no longer at ease. They do not feel comfortable about their own life thus far they do not back slide into their sinful ways. The wise men do not fit in with their people who now feel weird to them. The theme of the poem is trying to be perfect only ended in death. The narrator wants his life to end because of his weariness. Only the death of Jesus Christ will satisfy him. And he wishes on another death to bring on spiritual strangeness. And it is not said if he was would have been happy after his dealings with the first death. In conclusion, the poem Journey of the Magi, mainly speaks on the human soul and the struggle to be perfect. And that perfection can only be satisfied through death.

This has taken totally different approach to getting customers attention. Urgent Care of East Valley in Gilbert ignored to use the medical professions and the doctors in adverts. Although, Urgent Care of East Valley in Gilbert is located in an e nvironment where there is a competitive health care market, it has managed to be a regional leader in various issues in the medical field (Pinkovitz, 1997). Just immediately after the facility was opened, the marketing team intensified their campaigns and Urgent Care of East Valley in Gilbert made several approaches to differentiate itself from the heavy marketing advertisement from their competitor. The main aim of the advertisement were to break through the clutter and to present a strong and clear message to the clients; the ad was considered effective and smart meeting the healthcare objective. The campaign team focused their efforts on radio and TV, even though there were some efforts to reach print and outdoor ad as well. The location of the facility gives it an advantage because it is in a strategic position making it easily accessible in all directions. The main location locations are: Gilbert North of Southern, Higley North of Ray Rd, Gilbert South of Queen Creek and Rural North of Guadalupe. There are also other branches being constructed. Apart from this discussion, I will briefly discuss about theories of advertising.Advertising Looking for critical writing on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! These customers are also more informed about their needs and their requirement from goods and services. Many companies that produce several products have also come up and they all compete for the attention of a similar market. Advertising has been proposed to have two theories of how it works which are a strong theory and a weak theory. The strong theory of advertising suggests that for advertising to have an impact, an individual has to be persuaded to close the deal for the advertiser by making a purchase while the weak theory suggests that an in dividual is reminded to make a purchase for a particular brand of product. However, advertisements use the same concepts to attract and hook the attention of the consumer and finally, close the deal after the client makes a purchase. This paper will take a look into the different communication models that are utilized in advertising and give an example of a successful advertisement that has been made in the 21st century. The paper will also look at the AIDA Attention Interest Desire and Action advertising model used in the Mac vs. PC model. The critical debate is that, the modes of advertising currently used in the world today have evolved but the concepts that are used are still the same as those that were used a long time ago even before innovation and technology advanced. Even though consumers are more aware of their needs and rights, the concept of persuading and trying to keep consumers loyal to brands remains the same. Urgent Care of East Valley, Gilbert has various physicians who are qualified in various fields like Biology, Zoology, family practices to handle all the needs of the clients. Some of the services provided include; complicated lacerations and abscesses, EKG and X-ray, IV’s and IV medication, blood-work, specialized tests, abdominal pain, headache, severe back pain or other muscular injuries, broken bones, and ingrown nail removals. The facility has pharmacy department that can over various medications that can treat all kinds of infections, coughs and colds, muscular injuries among others making the facility popular (Berkowitz, 2006). To market itself the facility offers its services at a very low price like $ 10 per description; making medication very affordable.Advertising We will write a custom critical writing sample on Health marketing: Positioning and Differentiation specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More What makes it very unique from its competitor is that the facility can accept in surance through various providers like: Iab, Aetna, Health Choice, University Physichians, Health Choice Generations, Humana-Choice Care, John Alden Health, among other making payments to be very convenient. The other health care center does not accept payment from various insurance companies. Payment can also be made online making it easy and efficient to customers who don’t have insurance or cash (Free Library of Philadelphia, 2011). The Beth Israel Medical Center is located at 245 Fifth Avenue between 27 and 28th Street in New York. The center offers Continuum Health and healing center services to clients. The health care institution offers people the opportunities to educate themselves on health care options that are available and which they are best suited for the conditions that they might have. In this day and age when many people are trying to get healthy through their eating habits and treatment with natural medicine, the facility offers a ‘product’ that is highly needed in the market. Many individuals feel that the illnesses that they have developed are because of chemicals that they have consumed from highly refined foods or from years of taking medication. The notion that the Beth Israel medical center promotes wellness and prevention of diseases means that they target high end and ordinary consumers that are health conscious and act on their consciousness. The New York Beth Israel center is strategically located to be able to treat patients from all over the city. New York has a high population and has many other institutions from which Beth Israel can be able to source its clientele. Beth Israel offers clients education about their health acting as a preventive measure. This has helped them gain popularity especially for patients that might have long term chronic illnesses and they need to manage their diseases (East Valley Urgent Care, 2011).Advertising Looking for critical writing on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More The center has been equipped with the latest medical equipment that allows it to be able to offer a wide range of health care services. The center has employed the services of highly qualified specialists from all over the world and trained them on the use of integrative medicine. Integrative medicine incorporates research studies that have been conducted from renowned health organizations such as the Center for Disease Control and the Griffin Hospital in Connecticut. The center also prides itself in being a member of the National Consortium of Academic Medical Centers for Integrative medicine. All these affiliations to internationally known organizations make people know that the kind of health care provided by this organization is of high quality. Most of the individuals that visit the Beth Israel center have private insurance which makes funding more convenient for the institution. Majority of the health care institutions in the country have to deal with individuals that do not h ave insurance and the hospital do not want to turn them away, but they still have to pay their bills. The Beth Israel center in New York emphasizes that it does not focus on price to treat its patients. Some of the integrative treatments that are available are relatively cheap such as homeopathy and it can be performed on patients that have tried other forms of treatment without success. Research has shown that there has been a 70% increase in the number of Americans that have chosen to use integrative medicine. Some of these patients include cancer patients whose diseases have progressed on too much and they have been poor prognoses. Some of these patients opt to spend the last few moments that they have using natural remedies instead of medical procedures such as surgery or chemotherapy. Beth Israel has many clients from diverse backgrounds and with diverse medical issues. Most of the pharmaceutical companies that are available have failed to fund research studies that will lead t o the discovery and use of new medication. The Beth Israel center has therefore collaborated with research institutions all over the country that focus on wide areas of study. Due to the high profits that are available from pharmaceuticals, it is cited that it is the reason that most doctors, pharmacists and other individuals in the healthcare industry recommend manufactured medication. But many individuals especially those that suffer from chronic diseases seek integrated medicine because they feel that these might offer them a chance to get completely healed from their conditions and without performing of evasive procedures or without taxing of their metabolic systems with the removal of toxic chemicals from the body. The Beth Israel center is located in a strategic position where many people from all of New York can be able to access. Many internationally tourists also visit New York and they might decide to try out therapies offered at the center while at the city. This makes th e location of the center vey prime to take advantage of the many clients that might want to take advantage of integrative medicine. The location is in the heart of the city whereby, individuals can walk from their workplaces after a day’s work or they can call in and make appointments while they go at their free time during the day. This is therefore a great strength for the health center and places it ahead of its competitors. While some individuals might have already tried the conventional ‘western’ medication, there are other individuals that feel that taking of their bodies through healthy eating, regular exercising and the use of integrative medicine when they fall ill is the solution to their health problem. The Beth Israel health care institution offers holistic treatment in comparison to the Arizona Urgent Care facility. The Beth Israel Center specializes in offering clients health care services that cater to the whole body offering therapeutic care and e ven offering remedies. References Berkowitz, N. (2006). Should You Send the 4 Free SAT Score Reports

Should You Send the 4 Free SAT Score Reports SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips Few things in life are free – especially when it comes to college admissions. You have to shell out for prep books, test fees, application fees, and more. It adds up quickly! So doesn’t it make sense to save money where you can, like on those four free score reports that come with your SAT registration? Maybe – or maybe not. We will examine the issue in depth and help you learn how to save your money and also maximize your college admission chances. Why Students Often Send the 4SAT Reports When you register for the SAT, you have the option of choosing four colleges for your score report to be sent to, free of charge. You even have until 9 days after the test to add or change the colleges. Scores normally cost $11.25 per school to send, so you’re saving yourself $45 dollars. Many students go ahead and send the four free score reports. It’s free, so it seems like there isn't much to lose. Plus, you have to send your scores eventually, so why not do it when it’s free? Furthermore, some students think it demonstrates interest in a college to choose them as a score recipient. It might also motivate a student to study hard if they know their scores are being sent straight to their top-choice schools. All in all, it seems like a pretty good option, right? Well, that all depends on which schools you pick. Reasons Sending the Reports Could Be a Bad Idea While you certainly can save money by sending the four free score reports, there are several risks that come with using them. First of all, it’s worth clarifying you’re not getting any kind of a leg up in the college application process by sending scores early – colleges don’t keep track of or favor students who began their applications earlier or communicate with the admissions office in any way. The overall strength of your application matters most, not when you begin it. â€Å"Your completed application is all the demonstrated interest we need. We don’t track visits, communications, college fairs, or web events to enhance or detract from anyone’s application," says Dartmouth College on their admissions website. Stanford University says the same thing:"We know by the very fact of your applying that you are seriously interested in Stanford. We do not keep records of prospective student contacts with our office." Bottom line, the strength of your overall application is what matters to colleges. And a huge chunk of your application will be the test scores you send. Which is why the score reports can be a risk. The free score reports are sent automatically after your test is scored – you can’t take them back if you look at your scores and they’re lower than you wanted. This means a college you might really want to go to now has your less-than-stellar score. Unless you feel like chasing down a mail truck and stealing back your scores... This will negate using Score Choice (choosing your top SAT scores from multiple sittings) at any school you send the free score reports to. This is a risky move, especially if you send your scores to competitive schools. Plus, there are many reasons why the four free score reports might not be as helpful as you think. You might not end up applying to all four schools you list, especially if you’re taking the test as a sophomore or in junior fall. Most students’ college lists fluctuate a lot over the course of high school. While you're not wasting money if you don't end up applying to the four schools you send your scores to, it goes to show how those four reports are not necessarily helpful. Furthermore, if you retake the SAT, unless you choose the exact same four schools, you’ll have to re-send any new reports if you get a higher score the second time. So unless there are four schools you’re positive you’re going to apply to and you’re not worried sending lower scores will hurt your admission chances, the four free score reports can be a risk. While you can potentially save money by taking advantage of the free reports, you should be careful about which schools you choose. We will discuss two potential ways to get around this below. Our Strategy For the Free Score Reports While we wouldn’t tell you to never send the score reports, as it can be a cost-saving option, there is a way to be smart about it. Read about the two best options below – not sending the score reports at all or sending them only to your safety schools or â€Å"all scores† schools. Option 1: Don't Sent Any Reports This is the only way to be sure you won't accidentally send poor SAT scores to a college you're interested in. Not sending any score reports allows you to relax and focus on the test. You’re the only one who will see your scores for now. If you need to retake it, you’ll retake it. You don’t have to stress about a college seeing your scores immediately. Furthermore, not sending scores can be smart because you’re likely not going to finalize your application list until senior fall. It’s hard to predict where exactly you’re applying as a sophomore or junior when you take the SAT. In fact, the only schools you might be sure about are your dream or â€Å"reach† schools, precisely the schools you don’t want to be sending scores to blind. While you may end up paying more for score reports down the road, you will only be sending the scores you want to send to the colleges you want to apply to. By keeping your college application list manageable, you can save money on score reports and application fees. Option 2: Send the Reports to Safety and "All Scores" Schools If you really want to take advantage of those score reports, send them to your safety schools – ones you are fairly sure you will apply to and you know you won’t have trouble getting into. Or send them to any schools you’re interested in that require all scores anyway. Yale is one of many schools that require your complete testing record to be sent. By sending scores to safety schools, even if your score is lower than expected, you’re likely not hurting your chances of admission. And even if your scores are lower than expected and they go to all scores schools, that would happen anyway, even if you didn't send the reports for free. This way, you can save some money down the line when you’re applying to college without jeopardizing your chances of admission at competitive schools that accept Score Choice. How to Request Free Waivers for More Score Reports Many students today apply to more than four colleges, which means sending more than four score reports. If sending additional SAT scores presents a financial hardship for your family, you can get four more as part of a fee waiver from College Board. (The fee waiver also allows you to take the SAT twice for free, as well as two SAT Subject Tests.) Your high school counselor has to request the fee waver, so make an appointment with them as soon as possible to begin the process. This will take the pressure to send the four score reports just because they’re free. Other Tips for Keeping Costs Down Make sure you finalize your college application list early in senior fall and give yourself plenty of time to send scores so you don’t have to pay the extra rush delivery fee. This is a way to keep application costs down, not to mention your stress levels! Also, you shouldn’t be applying to a super long list of schools. All of those application fees and score-sending fees will add up quickly. Try to keep your list to 10 or fewer, and with a mix of safety schools, likely schools, and reach schools. Finally, carefully research score choice versus all scores schools. If you are mostly applying to schools that accept Score Choice, you will have the option to only send your best SAT scores. Don’t throw that chance away by sending SAT scores before you’ve seen them yourself. What’s Next? So what kind of SAT score should you be aiming for? Microhotels Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Microhotels - Research Paper Example The most distinguishing feature of micro-hotels therefore is the small room sizes coupled with the availability of the essential amenities within the space (Muther, 2014). Among the leading global brands of micro-hotels are Yotel, Nepcabs, Sleepbox and minute suites among many others. The above are brands just like any other and therefore engage in intense competition as they strive to grow their market shares. The development of micro-hotels is an avid portrayal of the adaptability of the hospitality industry. The unique type of hotels survives on a substantial market niche that requires a unique set of services from such facilities. The hotels main objective is to provide their customers with sleeping space. They do this by maximizing on the space. However, in order to retain a competitive advantage over the many similar hotels, various micro-hotels have begun expanding the nature of their services and products. Such companies as Yotel pride themselves in the provision of high quality services. The small rooms have warm showers and free Wi-Fi among other vital amenities that enhance the comfort and luxury of a hotel. Micro-hotels are relatively new concept in the hospitality industry. In order to meet the demand of such group of customers, the group of micro-hotels formulated an hourly basis form of payment that enables a customer to rent a room for a couple of hours. Micro-hotels have become increasingly popular in the modern society owing to a number of factors key among which is their relatively low prices

Product Liability and Intentional Tort Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Product Liability and Intentional Tort - Essay Example The rationale for placing high liability on the sellers and manufacturers regardless of the nature of defect is that such parties are better placed to bear the cost implications of compensation. In this case, it is argued that product manufacturers and sellers can cushion themselves against losses resulting from product defects by increasing the product’s prices. Due to lack of a federal law governing product liability, the precedence for liability torts is derived from various state laws and court rulings on the general tort law. The admissibility of Chase’s case for product liability can be established by examining the threshold requirements for product liability cases and relevant court rulings. According to the Indiana Law Review, the following mandatory threshold requirements exist for a case to qualify for product liability; a product’s user/claimant who is subject to injury by the product, product’s manufacturer or seller/defendant, faulty product t hat is considered as unreasonably dangerous to the consumer or consumer’s property, a product reaching the consumer without alteration to its initial state and physical harm resulting from the product (Buttrick, Alberts and Thornburg, 2011:1378). Irrespective of the relevant product liability theories involved in the case, Chase’s case should meet the above criteria to qualify for admissibility (Buttrick, Alberts and Thornburg, 2011:1378). An examination of the theories upon which the product liability law is based provides insight to this hypothetical scenario. Under the theory of negligence, the manufacturer of the paper shredding machine is not liable for Chase’s injuries since there was no negligence on the manufacturer’s part or failure to remove foreseeable risk of injury to the machine’s user (Buttrick, Alberts and Thornburg, 2011:1382). In this case, the injuries incurred were as a result of negligence by the user arising from failure to re ad and adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions. However, the machine’s manufacturer can be held liable for Chase’s injury on the basis of the duty to warn the user against a foreseeable risk of injury by the machine (Buttrick, Alberts and Thornburg, 2011:1383). The manufacturer’s liability to provide warning to the user and whether the operation instructions were sufficient to protect Chase from injuries can be established by examining other factors like the value of the warning. In this case, the manufacturer of the paper shredding machine had the duty to provide adequate warning regarding the dangers of personal harm incase the machine is operated without lubricating oil. Under negligence rule, Chase should prove that the injuries sustained occurred despite having observed the necessary duty of care (Fischer, 2009:7). Product liability requires the injured party; Chase to demonstrate the harm-causation relationship and whether there was any breach of duty if there was any negligence by the manufacturer (Fischer, 2009:7). Though there was concrete harm on the part of Chase and the nature of causation passes the necessary â€Å"but-for† test which seeks to establish whether the harm would have otherwise occurred, the burden of proof for the manufacturer’s failure to observe the necessary duty of care lies with Chase. In this case, it is less likely for Chase to be compensated by the paper shreddi

Physics is Everywhere Essay -- Essays Papers

Physics is Everywhere Physics is like math; it is always being used everywhere, whether we are conscious of it or not. With the use and knowledge of physics, one can take into account that knowledge to help them perform a deed more successfully and efficient. Although skydiving and weight lifting aren’t the only activities that involve physics, I feel that they are some of the most interesting and benefit seeking activities. Without the knowledge of physics, skydiving wouldn’t be as safe as it is today and weight lifters wouldn’t be able to lift five times their weight. The history of the physics of skydiving and weight lifting has been affected by implications socially and economically. Over the years, these activities have been altered due to increasing knowledge of physics, and this knowledge will continue to expand as time elapses. In 1797 the Frenchman Andre Jacques Garnerin performed the first parachute plunge from an aircraft using a basket below an open parachute, which was made of silk and solidified with supporting poles (The History of Sport Parachuting). When the first parachute was dropped, physicists didn’t have a wealth of knowledge about the physics that supported skydiving. Ever since the first drop, skydiving has been an evolving sport, as this is due to the developing knowledge of physics. Skydiving is perceived as a very risky sport in the eyes of the public; therefore, in order for the sport to continue, physicists needed to discover ways to reduce the risks involved. They were successful in doing this by developing better equipment and techniques. The economical impact of skydiving has been huge. The research involved in the design of the chute, the materials used, and the engineering invo... ...s. â€Å"Physics in Action† 4 June. 1997. 15 Nov. 2005. http://www.glenbrook.k12.il.us/gbssci/phys/projects/frig/piabycbu/pia1.html - George, Jeff. â€Å"Physics and Skydiving†.
